About Find My Accident Lawyer

Independent attorney ratings built on data — not ad dollars.

Why We Built This

After an accident, finding the right lawyer is overwhelming. Most attorney directories are pay-to-play — firms pay to rank higher, not because they're better. FindLaw, Avvo, and Martindale-Hubbell all sell premium placement to the highest bidder. We built FMAL to fix that with a different model entirely: every score is calculated algorithmically from publicly available data, and no firm has ever paid us a dollar to rank higher.

We cover 3,000+ personal injury and accident law firms across all 50 states. Every firm in our directory was identified through public records and review platforms — not through paid submissions. If a firm is listed, it's because they practice accident law, not because they paid to be here.

How FMAL Scores Work

Each firm receives an FMAL Score from 0–100. The score is a weighted composite of five independent data sources, each chosen because it captures a different dimension of how well a firm actually serves accident victims:

30%
Google ReviewsStar ratings and total review volume from verified Google Maps listings. Volume matters — a firm with 500 reviews at 4.7 stars is more reliable than 10 reviews at 5.0.
25%
Behavioral SignalsWe analyze review text using NLP to measure fight tendency (does this firm actually take cases to trial?), communication score, and settlement mill score (firms that push quick, low settlements). This is the data most directories never show.
15%
Reddit & Community MentionsReal consumer experiences from Reddit discussions, legal forums, and public communities. Unlike Google reviews, Reddit posts are harder to manipulate and reflect genuine peer recommendations.
15%
AI Sentiment AnalysisStructured sentiment extraction across all review text — identifying patterns around responsiveness, outcome satisfaction, communication quality, and red flags like ignored calls or lowball offers.
15%
Firm CredentialsYears in practice, state bar standing, free consultation availability, contingency fee structure, and specialty in personal injury vs. general practice.

Scores are recalculated as new data becomes available. Current dataset: April 2026.

Our Editorial Standards

FMAL is an editorially independent directory. Our ranking criteria:

  • No firm pays for placement, ranking position, or score modification
  • Scores are purely algorithmic — no manual editorial adjustment
  • All data sources are publicly available and verifiable
  • Firms can claim their profile to update factual information, but cannot change their score
  • Red flags (complaints, bar discipline, negative patterns) are displayed even for high-scoring firms

Who This Is For

FMAL is built for accident victims who need to make a fast, confident decision about legal representation. After a car accident, truck crash, motorcycle wreck, or slip-and-fall, you don't have time to research dozens of lawyers individually. FMAL aggregates all available public data into one honest score so you can compare firms in your city side by side — free, with no ads, no referral fees, and no hidden agendas.

What We Are Not

FindMyAccidentLawyer.com is an independent attorney directory. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. Listings are informational only. A high FMAL score does not constitute an endorsement — you should independently verify any attorney's credentials, confirm bar status, and schedule a consultation before retaining anyone. Prior results do not guarantee similar outcomes. If you need immediate legal advice, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.

Contact & Claims

Attorneys can claim their profile to update firm information, correct data errors, or add practice details. Profile claims are free and do not affect your FMAL Score.
